Re: Chicago City X
Stanislaw - Once I disabled Orbx Meigs Field the city came back. That said, your scenery is working correctly but I did check the compatibility box for Meigs. For some reason when Meigs is installed the city disappears.

Re: Chicago City X
Can you please make sure that our package has the higher priority than ORBX? It's also necessary to be sure that ORBX is installed in a default location in main P3D folder and thus our installer is able to make the respective compatibility changes.
Re: Chicago City X
I used the latest Orbx Central and let it install on its own, so does that mean it goes to a default location? Also, how do I change the priority?
Thanks, Pete

Pete, make sure that if using the package together with Meigs, the correct option is set during the install of our product.

Re: Chicago City X
Hi,
This is what my install looks like,
I have Chicago X 1.1 installed and made sure Meiggs Field was turned on in the configuration settings in the installation process.
I do not have any bgl's set to off
and FTX KCGX is in its right place in the scenery list (below Chicago X as I read in this thread)

Re: Chicago City X
When you deactivate FTX all these discrepancies are disappearing, right?
What have you changed so far to get the last status from your screen?
Can you confirm that both our scenery and FTX are installed in default locations?

Re: Chicago City X
Martin, thanks for your response,
my Chicago X is here:
E:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\Addon Scenery\Chicago X
And my ORBX KCGX is:
E:\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v4\ORBX\FTX_NA\FTX_AA_KCGX
Both pretty default-looking locations, I always make sure I install ORBX scenery to the folder inside the P3Dv4.5 installation folder, there's a setting for that in ORBX Central v4.
So I think the last thing I did to get to this stage is verify my ORBX KCGX installation, I notice that the ground textures for KCGX have a snowy overlay on them despite having 'hard winter ground poly' switched off, and FTX Vector frozen lakes switched on or off.
Could you maybe give me a difinitive list of the various bgl files that need to be switched either on or off in the different folder locations, I'm running Chicago X 1.1 so the various issues at the beginning of this forum thread don't seem to apply to my case as much,
Regards,
-Peter

Re: Chicago City X
To get this to work properly I'm happy to uninstall both FTX Meiggs field, Chicago City X and airports and start from scratch if you can give me a step by step method of what to do and what bgl's to turn off because I'm going round and round in circles here!

Re: Chicago City X
Peter, clean install can be worth trying.
It seems that FTX is in a default location, which should be fine for our installer. Please install our scenery as the last one with the appropriate settings marked in the installer. Please also start the installers with admin rights.
Have you maybe tried to discuss your issue on ORBX forum? It could be nice to have their opinion as well because their product is also involved in this case.

I haven't tried talking to them yet, I'll do as you suggest and report back,
Thanks

Re: Chicago City X
Ok, so I uninstalled both ORBX KCGX and Chicago X and this is what that looks like
https://ibb.co/z2ftLMs
Then I installed ORBX KCGX and this is what that looks like
https://ibb.co/VSWSbJS
Then I installed Chicago X and Cities with admin rights and ORBX Meiggs compatability pack checked, and with grass, concreite and ashfalt/custom global environment map all turned on.
https://ibb.co/M6jbwJy
So it looks like I'm essentially back to where I started. Note that at this point I haven't touched any bgl files at all, just clean installs here. I also made sure I deleted the Chicago X folder from Aircraft Addons in my documents when I uninstalled it, so that there would not be any files left over there messing things up.
Any ideas anyone?

Re: Chicago City X
Hi.
Do you know the path to ORBX's KCGX folder?
As far as I can see the Chicago scenery is installed correctly and it does include the KCGX compatibility pack (that is why near KCGX there is no orthophoto). The only question is why the actual KCGX's orthophoto is not displayed.
