This is simply how FS engine interprets the terrain. I don't think much can be done about that... Floating AGN in hilly terrain is known since many flight sims backwards.

Do you see the same floating AGN for Seattle X when it is running on P3D V4.1 or just me?

Hi.
Our customers asked us to implement snow textures in January only and this is how that was done in v1.05 . So - you can asimply switch to January. This matches flight sim's seasons as well as PNW's.

Helipads and Seaplane Bases

Post by RALF9636 »

Hello and Happy New Year!

I just purchased Seattle City and Airports and I am very impressed! Certainly one of the best sceneries I ever installed!

To get the most out of it, I wondered if there is a list (or map) of all the seaplane bases and helipads included in the scenery?

Regards
Ralf

Hi.
Thanks!
Not really, but you can use SkyVector to locate most of them.

Elevation issue at 0W0 with FTX PNW

Post by RALF9636 »

Thanks.

I have an elevation issue near 0W0 / W55 when using FTX PNW with Seattle City X (P3DV4).
The terrain around Lake Union is lower (maybe 5 meters) than the lake. The buildings around there seem to be in the right elevation so they are floating in the air.

If I disable the "FTX_NA_PNW06_CVX" scenery the problem disappears.

Could you please check if there is a compatibility issue with Seattle City X and FTX PNW or if something is wrong with my installation.

Btw at S60 everything looks okay.

Hi.
Did you install the fix provided on the ORBX forum? If not, please have a look (I do not have a direct link right now but it should be easy to find).

Do you mean the file

0_cvx_PNW_KPAE_lake_excludes.bgl

found here?

https://orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/146 ... nt-1293238

That didn't help.

I didn't find anything else.

Other than that I doublechecked that it is a Seattle City X problem. I deactivated Seattle City X and with Orbx PNW alone everything was fine. When activating Seattle City X again the elevation issue returned.

I am loving both the Seattle Airports and City X - only issue I can find so far is this road issue south of KBFI - the road sort of spreads out all over the place until right over the top of it, no place else does this - how might I fix this?

I have Orbx PNW region installed, as well as Taxi2Gate KSEA for P3Dv4.

Thanks!

Steve

Hi.
I believe that setting your mesh resolution to a lower value (more detailed) might fix this problem.

I found that the problem comes with the file

CVX_SEA_Vector.BGL

included in the Seattle X folder.

If I deactivate that file, the elevation around 0W0 looks okay. But I'm afraid keeping that file deactivated will lead to other problems.

So, anything I can do about it? Or will you be working on a fix?

Good to hear, thanks!

While your at it, would you consider upgrading 0W0 a little so that it has equal quality to S60 and W36?

W36 is part of the payware Airports of course but you also implemented S60 quite nicely. 0W0 is kind of "basic" compared to S60. It would be nice to have some higher quality docks, buildings and vegetation around 0W0, in particular the Kenmore Air Terminal. My Beaver does not feel comfortable at these basic and low resolution docks ;-)

Maybe you can at least include it into your upcoming KSEA upgrade?

Ralf
