I noticed that there is a new installer available that works for both simulators so I tried that and now it works.

no, as far as I can tell, it's a standard installation. The path is: C:\Users\Flusi\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Packages
