Re: Washington Landmarks MSFS
I am having difficulty with the Washington Landmarks pack for MSFS, as I gather several users are here. The problem relates to compatibility with the the 'USA - Points of Interest' patch (version 0.1.5). I have removed the package, and the Washington Landmarks pack works flawlessly (I have included 2 images in the attached album where the USA pack is removed - Oval office: <img src="https://i.ibb.co/92PjMhz/Oval-Office-US ... emoved.png" ; Capital https://i.ibb.co/42XFm2k/Capital-USA-up ... talled.png) vs where USA - POI pack installed: Oval Office - https://ibb.co/n3Z9tsx; Capital Building - "https://i.ibb.co/t24cqfs/US-Capital-Top ... 2-Copy.png"
When the USA - Points of Interest Pack is installed, there are 2 distinct issues: the first being topographic data that seems inaccurate, or inconsistent with that for the building models. the second, the default buildings (specifically the Washington monument, Whitehouse, and Capital Building) 'overlay' with the MSFS default models instead of displacing them. Both the 'microsoft-usa-point-of-interest' and 'drzewieckidesign-washingtonlandmarks' models load and display simultaneously. Here is a link to images showing examples of the issues. Full album link - https://ibb.co/album/848g6X
I run MSFS which I have downloaded using MS Game Pass, and purchases the Landmark Pack (version 1.0.6) in game. USA - points of interest (version 0.1.5) and USA-Procedural Buildings (version 0.1.15) installed. I have 'uninstalled' and re-installed the Landmark Pack add-on, without benefit, and the matter is only resolved by removal of the USA Point of Interest pack.

Re: Washington Landmarks MSFS
Thank you for your patience. I was finally able to replicate the issue, at least partially.
Mark, have you purchased your copy from Steam too?
Are you guys able to find your Community/Official folders in the MSFS install directory? This might help to troubleshoot the issue. Basically - if you can find our Washington package in the Official folder, you may try moving it to the Community folder instead.

Re: Washington Landmarks MSFS
I downloaded my copy of MSFS through the xbox Game Pass ... and am having the same issue as those who downloaded through Steam.
Per your suggestion I moved the Washington Package into the Community folder. Initially (and I suspect coincidently - but I advise just in case) my sim crashed when loading into Ronald Reagan Airport (DCA). It loaded on my second attempt ... but no improvement to the map/scene errors.
FYI my file path for the official folder was: G:\Flight Sim data\Official\OneStore\drzewieckidesign-washingtonlandmarks
I relocated the folder to: G:\Flight Sim data\Community\drzewieckidesign-washingtonlandmarks
Unfortunately no improvement.

Re: Washington Landmarks MSFS
It appears that lancbomber72 has the exact same problems that I have. It's interesting that he downloaded Washington Landmarks from a site other than Steam. Just so you understand, I have two copies of Washington Landmarks...one from Steam and one from Just Flight. As I said in a previous post, in order to rule out the possibility that my problems were created by a corrupt Steam version, I bought a second one from Just Flight. Unfortunately, I experienced the exact same problem.
In desperation, I have downloaded a free version of Washington Monuments from another software developer and while not of Drzewiecki Design quality, doesn't have the elevation data problems exhibited by Washington Landmarks MSFS. However, I have noticed one glaring problem in that the scenery addon messed up the Washington monument...there seems to be two monuments side by side with one smaller and merged into the side of the larger one.
I am encouraged that you are continuing to work on this issue.

Re: Washington Landmarks MSFS
I have a question. Is it possible to remove your logos from the buildings behind the KDCA airport? I know that you want to show you somehow, but from what I see mostly the developers if they even do that - they do that in a less intrusive ways (like placing it on some billboard away from the viewer or some inner terminal ad). Having them in a such important place breaks the immersion that you are in the actual Washington DC more than anything else. I know other companies like ORBX did not replace logos from buildings in they landmarks. Even if you can't show the real logos, as a precaution against copyright issues (even if it's unlikely that those companies ever consider to send you cease and desist simply because you work in a very different fields) is it possible to just leave the buildings without any logos? Please, don't take it as something against you - I do highly value your sceneries (and looking forward to see more of them!) but it's just something that makes feel any addon less genuine and breaks the immersion.

High.
Sure, it is possible to remove logos, other textures, even whole buildings or the entire product!
Ok, we will consider making them a bit less visible

Here is a reply from Asobo:
"This is an issue we’re aware of. You need to remove the USA POI from your content manager to prevent it from being displayed over [custom] content. We know this workaround isn’t optimal, but hopefully, someday we’ll have a better solution to offer."
This is not fully clear so far as obviously for most customers everything works correctly.

Re: Washington Landmarks MSFS
Are you referring to the highly touted World Update: USA? Is this the item that you suggest we remove? If so, I don't think this is a viable solution in that we would also loose all of the improvements for the entire USA, not just Washington, DC.

Re: Washington Landmarks MSFS
Please read my message above again. I am not suggesting anything there and no one is mentioning the whole World Update: USA package.
If I were you I would consider filing a Zendesk ticket https://flightsimulator.zendesk.com/hc/en-us .

Re: Washington Landmarks MSFS
I am glad I found this discussion, I have the same problem but with a different setup.
- MSFS from Microsoft store.
- Washington Landmarks purchased on simmarket.com (exe installer).
I just started to pinpoint the issue on my specific setup, so far I tried removing the Drzewiecki landmarks in the community folder.
Then starting + loading the sim, it looked fine except the capitol had elevation issues. After reinstalling the landmarks the overlapping issue returned.
I will try next with removing POI USA pack and DD-landmarks.

Re: Washington Landmarks MSFS
I managed to test in the following order:
1.
- Delete USA POI update via content manager + procedural generated USA content update buildings
- Load the sim
- Install DD Washington Landmarks & run the sim -> no issues
- Uninstall/remove DD Washington Landmarks
2.
- Install only the USA POI content update
- Load the sim
- buildings seem to have not that well optimized connection to the surrounded ground level, I guess that is "normal"
3.
- Install DD Washington Landmarks
- Issues appear again -> overlapping scenery
4.
- Uninstalled DD Washington Landmarks
- Load the sim
- Back to a state like at no 2.
- Installed procedural generated USA content update buildings
- Load the sim -> as to be expected, no big difference with the POIs itself, just the surroundings
5.
- Installed DD Washington Landmarks
- Load the sim
- Issues are back
I also tried with removing navigraph beta content from the community folder. This shouldn't have had any impact but I tried just to be sure.
The other thing I just tested is removing the rolling cache, since I have this option active. I might try with removing all the US content updates, deleting the cache and trying step by step but I have my doubts this will change anything.
I just wonder if the other users that have no issues maybe reinstalled MSFS at some point?
I did not since the initial release and just installed every update.
