Well, we do learn something every day.
My error.
Those 2 locations represent the 4 mile crib and the harrison-dever crib as I learned from a simple Google Earth search.
Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience,
Cheers

Może to znany problem, ale wyszukiwarka niczego nie pokazuje.
Startuję sobie z KORDu, a tam w Chicago wiosna w rozkwicie.

Greetings!

I recently purchased and installed Chicago City X and Chicago Airports X in P3Dv4.5. I must say that everything looks wonderful and it is a fantastic product.

Having said that, though, I have some issues.

The problem I'm having is that the City scenery causes my sim to "hang" for a few seconds from time to time while it is loading. I did also try the install with the "Lite" textures but that didn't help. I attempted to uninstall the City X using the method in the Manual/Docs, of removing the “add-on.xml” line in the folder specified. After I did that, and KORD there were no buildings present - only the jetway stair cases.

Could someone please explain to me how to remove Chicago City X? I do wish to keep the Chicago Airports X installation, though.

Regards,
Scott

Hi Scott, do you have any Chicago folder in the following location: ...\Users\"username"\Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons? Maybe you deleted add-on.xml for both airports and city. If there is nothing, please only reinstall the airports package with admin rights and it should work.

Regarding "hang" problem please use lite texture versions, please try to avoid installing the airport, which are not being used by you and please reduce some sim settings, incl. textures resolution.

Greetings and thanks for the reply.

This is what I did to try to remove Chicago City X:

To uninstall/deactivate the product simply remove its Scenery Library entry (in P3Dv4 you need to remove the “add-on.xml” located in My Documents\Prepar3D v4 Add-ons\Chicago X folder). Additionally you can remove the “Chicago X” folder from the FS/Addon Scenery however this will also remove the Chicago Airports X product if installed, since both products share the same folder.

There was only one .XML file in that folder. When I removed it I had the results as noted in my original post. To make things right, I went to my recycle bin and had that file placed back in it's original location.

Yes, I am using the "lite" textures.

So, back to my original question - is there any other way to remove Chicago City X and keep Chicago Airports X? Or would it be best to uninstall both products and then only re-install Chicago Airports X?
