Chicago Landmarks MSFS
Latest version: v1.4 (2025)
Re: Chicago Landmarks MSFS
Martin - I double checked in 2020 again and it does still appear to be an issue although the LOD is a bit further out than 2024. All the buildings lose their textures only a mile or 2 SW of KMDW. Maybe that's by design but still seems too close in my eyes. Thanks!

Re: Chicago Landmarks MSFS
In my opinion, the matter is very simple. It's snow! Switch January to March and check. I just checked in Chicago!
Re: Chicago Landmarks MSFS
I just downloaded the 1.4 update from SimMarket and Msfs 2024 since release. When I go to install I get an error message that says "Simulator path could not be located. Please check your configuration and try again."
How do I get the installer to find the correct simulator path? This is the only add-on that I have had this issue.
Thank you

Re: Chicago Landmarks MSFS
Hi, it's the installer from Simmarket, right?
It has to be something with the incorrect path in the file, from which our installer reads the path. Can you check what is mentioned in this file:
MS Store:
%localappdata%Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\UserCfg.opt
Steam:
%appdata%\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024\UserCfg.opt
It turned out that another developer's path setting installer may corrupt UserCfg.opt files in MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024. Please make sure that in this file “InstalledPackagesPath” entry points to the path where your Community folder is installed.
Last but not least, you can also try to:
1. Remove the patch from UserCfg.opt file, which means that it looks like this: InstalledPackagesPath ""
2. Run our installer, which should ask for the path to the main MSFS folder (incl. Community and Official)
3. Complete the installation
4. Revert the original path to the UserCfg.opt file

Sorry for taking long to reply.
Yes this is the installer from Simmarket.
I checked my InstallPackagePath in the UserCfg.opt file. It is pointing to the correct Community directory.

Re: Chicago Landmarks MSFS
Can you please attach this file here as a zip file? Your problem must have to do something with it.
Re: Chicago Landmarks MSFS
If your are referencing a copy of my UserCfg.opt file. I have made a .zip file of that and included that as an attachment.
I have Msfs 2024 on my E: drive. I have created a separate directory for my Community folder. I have within MSFS 2024 pointed to the location of my Community folder not by changing the path within the UserCfg.OPT file.
File from Simmarket is Chicago_Landmarks_MSFS.v1.4.exe

Tomorrow I will check your file on my PC. In the meantime, other user shared similar problem and solution - please take a look: viewtopic.php?p=29840#p29840
Re: Chicago Landmarks MSFS
I installed Chicago Landmarks v 1.4 into MSFS 2024 and there are buildings popping up at the end of the runway near the Planetarium.. Is this a problem with MSFS 2024?

Re: Chicago Landmarks MSFS
Is it PC or Xbox version?
Do you have a default Bing map enabled?
Have you tried to do some basic steps, meaning:
-> Clear SceneryIndexes Cache - the simulator will rebuild the indexes automatically during the next start.
-> Set the scenery priority
-> Isolation of conflicting add-on
If it doesn't work, please show it on the screenshot. No one has reported it so far. Maybe you have another add-on that might interfere with our scenery.

Re: Chicago Landmarks MSFS
I have a PC. This doesn't happen in 2020. There are also big rocks everywhere. Even where the boats should be. These buildings pop up after a few seconds. Not sure how to take a screen shot in 2024.

We are not able to replicate your issue - without looking at this, we are not able to help. Have you done these basic steps?
Re: Chicago Landmarks MSFS
have cleared the Cashe. Don't see where you can set priority. Default maps are enabled.
When I first installed MSFS 2024 Meigs Field was there; however the runway was flooded. After the first update the flooding was gone. I installed Chicago Landmarks 1,4. After the flight loads the buildings are not there, In a few seconds they pop up. Also the rocks around the airport are huge. In addition the boats in the harbor on the other side of the main terminal are rocks.

Re: Chicago Landmarks MSFS
I'm sorry, but first, it's necessary to perform some basic steps to solve some standard issues generated by MSFS. Below, you can see my description of how to do them.
Secondly, at the moment you are the only one reporting this issue, which suggests that it might be caused by your individual setup. If you don't provide us with any screenshots or video, it's hard to understand your problem and replicate it. But first please try these basic solutions - my understanding is that clearing the rolling cache and reinstalling were done.
-> Clear SceneryIndexes Cache - the simulator will rebuild the indexes automatically during the next start.
Go to the MSFS:
Microsoft Store Version: C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache
Steam Version: C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator
Retail Disc Version: C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\MSFSPackages
Open the "SceneryIndexes" folder, delete all files, and start the simulator again.
-> Set the scenery priority
The MSFS Package re-order tool can move the add-on to the highest priority, which might solve some conflicts between different add-ons (for example buildings or terrain issues).
Open your MSFS options menu and navigate to "General Options > Experimental" - find "Package Reorder Tool" and turn it on.
Find the add-on you are having issues with and move it to the bottom of the list.
-> Isolation of conflicting add-on
Go to the 'Community' folder and move all add-ons except the one suspected conflicting one to a temporary folder. You can de-activate individual add-ons or groups of add-ons and then figure out whether the conflict is solved or not. This solution can help to determine whether the issue is with the specific add-on or a combination of a few add-ons.

Re: Chicago Landmarks MSFS
I removed everything in the Community folder except Chicago Landmarks. The issues are still there. I have pictures. How do I send them?
