Thanks. I really like the RJAA. YOu did awesome work here. My only complaing was the lowres satelite imagery inside the airport. I hope you get to fix it soon or improve it :)

Hello, the airport is sold as MSFS24 compatible and this issue with bumpy airport ground/terrain is unfortunately there with the sim. Had this been addressed and have I missed it? Or could you kindly tell me about the status of it. Additionally, it seems there may be an issue with the terminal glass flickering a lot, possibly due to render conflicts regarding MSFS24 compared to MSFS20? I do not have MSFS20 to compare with, so its an assumption. The 2nd image is from FS.to where someone made a fix for MSFS20, but some of the fix doesnt work on MSFS24

Hi, it's been a long time since this scenery was released indeed. We have all the issues noted and thus will want to release the V2 version. However, the time slot has not been decided yet.

Thank you very much for the kind words about RJAA. We truly appreciate it.

Regarding the satellite imagery: this was developed in 2020 under technical constraints present in MSFS at that time. There was a size restriction affecting how large aerial data sections could be generated, which limited how high the resolution could be for very large airports such as Narita.

Because RJAA covers a vast area, we had to carefully balance resolution and overall structure of the scenery data. The final result was the best possible compromise within those limitations.

It is also important to remember that RJAA was built during the early phase of MSFS, when many core systems were still evolving. Since release, the simulator has changed significantly.

The aerial base layer is deeply integrated into the scenery. Large areas were manually refined (removing unwanted shadows, cleaning older objects, adjusting details, etc.), so replacing it would effectively mean rebuilding major parts of the airport.

If Narita were developed today, some elements would likely be approached differently. However, a full rebuild is unfortunately not a realistic update path for a project of this size.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Thank you for your detailed report.

Yes, RJAA is compatible with MSFS 2024. Since its original release in 2020, the simulator has undergone several major changes, including adjustments to terrain handling and glass rendering. These changes can sometimes affect older scenery products.

Narita uses a complex custom ground structure due to its real world terrain layout. Maintaining compatibility with both MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024 adds additional complexity, and in certain simulator builds this may result in surface irregularities.

Regarding the glass flickering, this is very likely related to changes in the rendering system between simulator versions. Glass materials have been adjusted multiple times by the simulator developers.

We greatly appreciate all feedback. We are currently performing update passes on several of our airports and will do our best to review the most critical issues in RJAA in the near future.

Thank you again for your support.
