Hi. Probably not, as RJAA's interior is extremely basic.

Just installed RJAA, my first Drzewiecki product! I've attached a screenshot of the parking lot with poor textures on the ground, is this due to my use of the MSFS Map Enhancement addon (currently using "Updated/Latest Bing Maps"), or is the add-on supposed to look this way?

Thank you

Negative, Sir! It shouldn't look like that.

Have you tried to do some standard steps solving some MSFS issues:
  • remove "rolling cache"
  • remove and rebuild SceneryIndexes
  • make sure that our scenery has a higher priority using the Package Reorder Too
Do you have the option of Bing Data World Graphics activated?

Thanks for the quick reply Martin:

- I don't use rolling cache, it is disabled
- How do remove and rebuild SceneryIndexes?
- I haven't used Package Reorder Tool before either but I can download it I'm assuming?
- As mentioned, I am not using default Bing maps, the MSFS Map Enhancement add-on is running before the sim starts and is applying the most recent "updated Bing Maps"

Thank you

I can only presume that it might be caused by this MSFS Map Enhancement add-on as something overshadowed our photo-scenery (which has a low LOD).
Our CGL works well with default Bing, with others often might disappear.

Regarding:

-> Clear SceneryIndexes Cache - the simulator will rebuild the indexes automatically during the next start.

Go to the MSFS:
Microsoft Store Version: C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache
Steam Version: C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator
Retail Disc Version: C:\Users\YourUsername\AppData\Local\MSFSPackages
Open the "SceneryIndexes" folder, delete all files and start the simulator again.

-> Set the scenery priority

The MSFS Package re-order tool can move the add-on to the highest priority, which might solve some conflicts between different add-ons (for example buildings or terrain issues).

Open your MSFS options menu and navigate to "General Options > Experimental" - find "Package Reorder Tool" and turn it on.
Find the add-on you are having issues with and move it to the bottom of the list.

-> Isolation of conflicting add-on

Go to the 'Community' folder and move all add-ons except the one suspected conflicting one to a temporary folder. You can de-activate individual add-ons or groups of add-ons and then figure out whether the conflict is solved or not. This solution can help to determine whether the issue is with the specific add-on or a combination of a few add-ons.

It seems like that area indeed has that texture resolution.

Please note - the scenery was released 4 years ago. As far as I remember, Tokyo had a large ortho coverage and the size of that had to be kept below 1GB.

I have the same issue. Very lowres ground texture on the roads and parking spots inside the airport. I've never used any map mod. Rolling cache was cleared. I dont have any other issues with all my sceneries (hundreds of them). Please check link with uploaded screenshots to see the issue.

Any chance you could improve it? Because your airport is really high quality. I mean runways, taxiways, gates, buildings, terminals etc. It looks really good, but these ortho textures make the whole package average. Thank you.

Noted on a to-do list, however, keep in mind that we also need to remember about the people looking for a better performance.

I totally get that, but I have average PC (5yr old) with super 2070 and I5-9600k and your airport runs very fine. It is PC from end of 2018/2019. Fast forward to 2024 and people are having modern PCs capable of running this airport even at higher details and FPS like I do. If you have any doubts you always can do that as an option. In my opinion this is one of the strongest benefit of any addon. Give people option to turn on/off parked cars, people in terminal, parked aircraft, better ortho file etc. Leave it up to a customer if he is willing to trade off few fps for better visuals. I know for sure that the better ortho wont hurt my fps much if anything it will increase VRAM usage on GPU, but I'm fine with that and I'm sure your customers will be as well :)
Thanks!
