Re: KMDW Chicago Midway XP12
On Saturday March 15, 2025 I also posted (PLEASE READ THE POST):
"The approach end of Runway 31C is incorrectly marked 31R.
At the north end of the new taxiway "H" the small feeder taxiway to Runway 13C has been changed from taxiway "M" to "H1".
And finally, the tower view is a 0 feet AGL instead of cab level".
I was waiting to see if any one else has noticed this problem as well. Now the @zischke has confirmed what I said, I hope I can help.
It seems to be a Runway Pavement marking error and a Taxiway Sign and pavement marking error. Your 13-31 runway change from three runways down to two is correct. Changing the east runway to "Taxiway H" is also correct.
What the airport authorities have done was to keep Runway 13C-31C marking the same and simply removed 13L- 31R and Painted it to taxiway H. {Please consult a FAA or Jesppesen Airport Diagram. I try to send some screenshots with this post.
Any I can help please ask.
Thank you,
ClassieAeroPilot

Hello, please check the attached files and let us know if they fix the main issues (runway naming, fixed jetways).

Yes, runway markings for 13C-31C are now correct. The taxiway signs leading to runway 13C-31C also seem to be correct now. Well done. I am sure you know this, but ALL the taxiway pavement markings leading into 13C-31C are still incorrect. Thank You
I am not using SAM addons so I am unable to test the jetways for you. (Perhaps someone else could try).
I would like to upload screenshots to show taxiway examples but you have a 2 Gb limit and I not sure what photo format you accept.
Great Airport Scenery. As I said in an earlier post KMDW and KORD are my home airports.
You guys do great work.

I converted my Screenshot and was able to attach it with my reply. As I said the painted White over Red Taxiway Signs are incorrect as well.
Thank you for fixing these issues.

Re: KMDW Chicago Midway XP12
And the last scenery issue is the taxiway sign taxiway marking for the new "H1" on the northwest portion of the airport.
These correction will improve the airport scenery for all of us.
Thank you in advance for addressing the concerns.

@ClassicAeroPilot thanks for hopping in and giving all the feedback to the devs - I missed the notification somehow.
Do you have more information about 31R/13L? It is used as a taxiway, however there is still an active approach available for that runway... So I am wondering how they handled the markings and runway lights. I am from Germany, so I do not have any information or pictures from the current state of the airport, but maybe someone from the US does so?

Re: KMDW Chicago Midway XP12
Seems they installed that "X" over 31R (H)

@Zischke
Yes that is correct but it is used today a taxiway "H" just a you have depicted it in your scenery.
VATSIM ATC is current using taxiway "H" as well. I not sure if this the X needs to be shown on you scenery.
Unfortunately, as far as I know there are no current satellite maps available. And there are fence and visual barriers all around the airport perimeter.
You may have found the best view so far.

Re: KMDW Chicago Midway XP12
@ ClassicAeroPilot, yes I know it is now used as taxiway H.
However, it is still not clear how the markings are.
Since they use the X and there is still that approach for 31R, I still assume the runway is still a runway and not a taxiway (regarding the markings....)

I can't help you with weather 31R-13L will be returned from Taxiway "H" back to a Runway or not. But the artist that created taxiway "H" did a great job, Until the Airport authorities or the FAA does something more I would leave them alone for now. They match the Airport Diagram perfectly. Also I would wait for an updated satellite image to appear.
My concern is still that the "white over red taxiway pavement markings" leading into RUNWAY 31C-13C should be change to match the signs and the runway and the airport diagram. And taxiway "H1" SIGNS and PAVEMENT markings needs be corrected as well.
Hope this helps, it the best I can do. If any one else knows more about this, please speak up.
P.S. That background in this screenshot is your X-plane 11 Chicago City that I still use in X-Plane 12 all the time. Looks Great just need an update.

Re: KMDW Chicago Midway XP12
The point is that we are not fully sure what will happen in July/August this year. According to my colleagues, we created the scenery knowing that it would be L/R, so we somehow made this new scenery in a future layout. We did this small update for the time being, but we don't want to spend more time on something that might change in just 2 or 3 months.
